32 HOUR SUPPORTED SCAFFOLD INSTALLER AND REMOVER

Course Description:

The teaching faculty at WDC Safety Training Academy is unparalleled in their scaffold expertise. Courses are enriched by decades of hands-on knowledge that will be conveyed to students. Teaching will include a focus on a range of skills including pre-planning, worker training, reading scaffold design drawings, and safe methods of installation, removal and modification. A significant portion of the class time will be dedicated to hands-on training and practice. OSHA regulations and DOB standards will be covered fully.

Each student will be evaluated by the instructor to gauge ability to apply knots, install/maintain fall protection systems, build supported scaffolds and walking/working scaffold platforms.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Differentiate between OSHA and New York City Building Code regulations

  • Properly inspect supported scaffold components

  • Pinpoint scaffold accident causes and corresponding prevention methods

  • Control hazards related to the installation/removal of supported scaffolds

  • Translate terminology and definitions related to supported scaffold

  • Demonstrate basic hands-on knowledge of the safe use of supported scaffold equipment

Course Pricing: $500 including card

 

Prerequisites

Attending students MUST be able to verbally communicate with teaching instructors in the primary language of the training offered.

Audience

Experienced workers, supervisors and safety managers involved in the installation, removal or modification of supported scaffolds. As per Local Law 52, this certification is required for workers installing or removing scaffolds over 40 feet in New York City and is valid for four years.

Methods of Instruction

The 32-hour training program is composed of many components such as power point presentations, lectures, real life case studies, and classroom discussions.

Completion Requirements

Each student is required to complete 100% of the course, as well as actively participate in all learning activities. Additionally, the review quiz is required to obtain a course-completion card.

Make-up time is permitted for this training course under the condition that the student completed at least 50% of the training. Students who miss time before finishing 50% of initial class or missed more than 50% of total time must reschedule and attend the full training course.
