OSHA 10-HOUR SAFETY TRAINING COURSE FOR CONSTRUCTION

Course Description: The OSHA 10-Hour Training program is a safety and health hazard recognition and prevention course geared to all employed on job sites and is designed to help individuals comply with federal OSHA requirements.  By having a staff informed of the hazards that are inherent in every day work on projects, the employees are safe and the company’s risk of fines and penalties is dramatically reduced.  Safety training classes help establish a safety culture in which employees themselves help promote proper safety procedures while on the job. This course will give the attendee a basic understanding of job hazards on a construction site.

 

Duration: A minimum of an OSHA 10-hour course is required training to work on public construction projects.OSHA 10-hour classes are required to be completed in two days.

 

Topics to include how to identify and eliminate infractions during construction, as well as the following:

  • Introduction to OSHA

  • Orientation/first aid/accident prevention

  • Scaffolding

  • Excavations

  • Understanding Regulations

  • Stairs and Ladders

  • Confined Space

  • Health Hazards

  • Fire Protection

  • Electrical

  • Record Keeping

  • Fall Protection

  • Burning and welding

  • Personnel protective equipment (PPE)

Power points and handouts are included in the two-day program.
